MD, PhD Piotr Ogrodowicz

Specialist in orthopedics and musculoskeletal traumatology | Specialist at Halluxmed Surgery and Orthopedics

MD, PhD Piotr Ogrodowicz is a specialist in orthopaedics and musculoskeletal traumatology with nearly 20 years of clinical experience. He is associated with the Department and Clinic of Traumatology, Orthopaedics and Hand Surgery at the Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poznań, where he has been a ward physician since 2010. His practice includes shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist surgery, covering both elective reconstructive procedures and the treatment of complex upper-limb injuries.

In his daily work, he performs arthroscopy of the shoulder, elbow and wrist, as well as arthroplasty of the shoulder, elbow and hand joints, including in post-traumatic, degenerative and oncological cases. He treats joint instability, rotator cuff injuries, non-unions and impaired bone healing, and reconstructs nerves, vessels and tendons of the upper limb. He obtained his doctorate based on research into the biomechanics and proprioception of the shoulder joint.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Karol Marcinkowski University of Medical Sciences in Poznań. He gained international surgical experience as an assistant at the Orthopaedics Clinic of St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College, in London, and during specialist courses in Austria, Switzerland, the United States and the United Kingdom.

For many years, he was a physician for elite sports teams. He served as team doctor for the Polish national athletics and swimming teams and took part in the 2012 London Olympic Games as a member of the Medical Mission of the Polish Olympic Committee. This experience directly informs his diagnostic precision and his approach to treating physically active patients who require a rapid return to full fitness.

He is the author and co-author of scientific publications on shoulder surgery, biomechanics and the treatment of joint instability, published, among others, in International Orthopaedics. Within the Polish Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, he successively served as secretary, board member and chair of the Hand, Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Section. He is a member of the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (SECEC/ESSSE).

He has been part of the Halluxmed team since 2026. He brings the hospital operative experience spanning the full range of upper-limb surgery, from arthroscopy and reconstruction to advanced shoulder, elbow and hand arthroplasty.
