At Halluxmed, we guide patients through the entire treatment process—from first contact and consultation, through diagnostics and preparation for the procedure, to the hospital stay, postoperative care and follow-up visits.
Every patient has an individual pathway, depending on the type of problem, planned treatment and procedure
First contact
The first contact with Halluxmed can take place by telephone, via the contact form or online.
Our registration team helps you choose the right specialist and a convenient appointment. At this stage, we also answer questions about the consultation, preparing for the visit and next steps.
We want patients to know the next step from the very first contact.
Consultation and diagnostics
During the visit, the doctor takes a detailed history, examines the patient and assesses the problem for which they have come to Halluxmed Orthopaedics. We select diagnostics individually. Most tests ordered by the doctor are performed on site (ultrasound, X-ray, pedobarography and pedCAT). If the correct diagnosis requires a test unavailable on site, our registration team helps organise it at a partner diagnostic centre.
Individual treatment plan
After the consultation and necessary diagnostics, the doctor presents the diagnosis and proposed treatment. The patient coordinator then discusses the therapy, planned procedure, required tests, hospital stay and recovery.
Together we choose a convenient procedure date and all preparation steps. At every stage, patients can ask questions and discuss concerns with the doctor or patient coordinator.
Preparing for surgery
Before the procedure, patients receive all necessary information about preparing for surgery. Depending on the procedure, we determine the required tests, consultations and formalities and provide instructions about medicines and preparing for the hospital stay.
The registration team and patient coordinator help organise the next steps so that patients know exactly what to prepare and when to report to the hospital.
Hospital admission
On the agreed date, the patient is admitted to Halluxmed Hospital. The nursing team performs the necessary preoperative preparation and ensures the patient’s comfort and safety at every stage.
The patient then comes under the care of the anaesthesiologist, who selects the appropriate anaesthetic. The scope and course of surgery are discussed with the operating doctor.
Procedure / surgery
All procedures take place at Halluxmed Hospital, in the same building as consultations and some diagnostics.
The hospital has two operating rooms equipped with the latest technology, enabling procedures to be performed in complete patient comfort and to the highest standards.
Hospital stay
After surgery, the patient remains under the care of the medical team. We monitor their condition, supervise the first hours after surgery and provide instructions for further care. The length of stay depends on the operation and the patient’s individual needs.
Patients stay in comfortable twin rooms with round-the-clock nursing care. If needed, they also receive appropriate medical or orthopaedic supplies, such as postoperative footwear used after foot and bunion procedures.
Discharge and return home
On discharge, the doctor explains further treatment and the nursing team reviews all instructions on medicines, wound care and dressing changes, mobility, activity levels and the date of the next follow-up visit.
After leaving hospital, patients are not left without support. We stay in contact during the first days after surgery, and patients can contact our staff with questions or concerns using the information provided.
