Preparation and recommendations before surgery

complete blood count
serum glucose level
serum electrolytes (sodium, potassium)
coagulation panel (kaolin–cephalin clotting time, APTT, INR)
anti-HCV antibody and HBs antigen levels
ESR, CRP
TSH, FT3, FT4
ECG
ECG with report
nasal swab for MRSA and MSSA
rectal swab for CPE
or other laboratory tests and specialist consultations individually ordered for the patient

Please complete the above tests three weeks before the planned procedure and send the results by email to: wyniki@halluxmed.pl

on the day before surgery and on the following days, take 500 mg of vitamin C once daily;
please eat and drink your last meal six hours before surgery (if you take regular medication, e.g. for hypertension or thyroid disease, please take the tablet with no more than one third of a glass of still or boiled water);
Do not smoke for at least six hours before surgery;
remove contact lenses and wash off makeup;
please leave jewellery at home
remove polish, hybrid polish and gel from the toenails of both feet. A light colour may remain on the fingernails;
if you are prone to cold sores, take Heviran 400 mg for four days before and seven days after surgery.
Menstruation is not a contraindication to surgery.

please arrive at the designated time (this is the admission time for the ward, not the surgery time);
expected hospital discharge time – 9:00;
after surgery, thrombosis prophylaxis will be administered, involving subcutaneous injections for
10–20 days, unless otherwise instructed;
the cost of postoperative visits and tests is not included in the procedure price;
any additional services the patient chooses (apart from the surgical procedure, paid by bank transfer before surgery) are payable on admission to the ward (by card or cash);
