Outpatient clinic and hospital ward
Chronic pain affects daily activities and quality of life. At Halluxmed, patients can receive care from specialists in different fields and treatment tailored to their condition.
The centre includes an outpatient clinic for assessment and medication treatment and a hospital ward with an operating theatre for interventional treatment. Selected procedures are performed with ultrasound or X-ray guidance. Treatment is chosen after an individual assessment.
Conditions treated at the centre
Neuropathic pain
- Pain associated with multiple sclerosis, stroke or other brain injury, and spinal cord injury
- Pain after amputation and post-traumatic or post-surgical neuropathies
- Polyneuropathies, including diabetic, metabolic, toxic and drug-induced forms
- Postherpetic neuralgia, peripheral nerve entrapment syndromes and persistent postsurgical pain
Head and facial pain
- Migraine and tension-type headache
- Pain associated with temporomandibular joint dysfunction and trigeminal autonomic headaches
Interventional treatment
Procedures are selected according to the diagnosis and medical indications.
Injections, nerve blocks and other methods
- Superficial and deep local anaesthetic injections at painful points
- Intra-articular injections of steroids, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) or hyaluronic acid
- Ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks, including genicular nerves for knee pain, foot nerves and the suprascapular nerve for shoulder pain
- Botulinum toxin injections for tension-related head and facial pain
- Thermolesion, cryolesion and acupuncture, including Pyonex
- Intravenous lidocaine therapy
Rehabilitation
Treatment may include manual therapy, muscle relaxation procedures and physical therapy.
