MSc Piotr Kostrzębski is a physiotherapist specialising in orthopaedic and rheumatological physiotherapy, with a particular focus on podiatric physiotherapy. His practice includes diagnosing and treating patients with foot, ankle and lower-leg deformities and dysfunctions, postoperative and post-traumatic physiotherapy in this area, and care of rheumatology patients and people with chronic pain. For diagnosis and treatment planning, he combines physical, functional and manual examination with functional musculoskeletal ultrasound and current evidence-based standards of care.

For foot and ankle conditions, he provides a full range of care: diagnosis of complex and rare deformities, including adult clubfoot and Charcot–Marie–Tooth foot; treatment of flatfoot and pes planovalgus at every stage; treatment of tendinopathies, enthesopathies and mechanically or medically caused plantar-fascia disorders; and assessment of foot biomechanics and the subtalar complex.

This is complemented by physiotherapy after foot and lower-leg surgery, including osteotomies, arthrodeses, arthroereisis, forefoot, hallux valgus and hallux rigidus corrections, and treatment of flatfoot and cavus foot, as well as care after sprains and fractures.

He graduated in physiotherapy from the Masovian Medical University. He began his clinical practice in neurological rehabilitation, then focused on orthopaedic and neuro-orthopaedic patients and, for nearly 15 years, on podiatric physiotherapy. He obtained instructor qualifications in foot examination and therapy from the International College of Biomechanics in Kirrawee, Australia. In 2019, the college recommended his original training programme and, a year later, appointed him one of its instructors – the only physiotherapist from Europe.

He created the Global Foot Therapy concept, based on the premise that foot therapy cannot be conducted separately from the rest of the musculoskeletal system. For more than ten years, he has trained physicians, physiotherapists and podiatrists in Poland and abroad in examining and treating foot deformities, post-traumatic and postoperative care, and functional ultrasound imaging of the foot and ankle. He is a former academic lecturer and co-author of scientific publications.

Piotr Kostrzębski expands the Halluxmed team’s expertise to include podiatric and postoperative physiotherapy for the foot, ankle and lower leg, functional musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnostics, and invasive physiotherapy techniques: dry needling and ultrasound-guided percutaneous EPTE electrolysis.
