Dr. habil. Piotr Czarnecki is a specialist in orthopedics, musculoskeletal traumatology, and hand surgery. For more than 20 years he has been associated with the Department and Clinic of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Hand Surgery at the Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań, where he currently heads the clinic. He earned his postdoctoral medical degree through a series of studies on modern methods of upper-limb nerve reconstruction.
His main practice includes hand surgery and reconstructive microsurgery, including treatment of peripheral nerve injuries, post-traumatic reconstruction of tendons and vessels, replantation, and treatment of congenital upper-limb defects. He also performs shoulder, elbow, and wrist arthroscopy and arthroplasty of upper-limb joints. Treatment uses modern implants and minimally invasive techniques that shorten recovery and improve functional results.
He graduated from the Karol Marcinkowski Medical University in Poznań. He developed his clinical and scientific experience at the W. Dega Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Clinical Hospital in Poznań, treating patients requiring both elective reconstructive procedures and urgent care for complex upper-limb injuries.
Holder of the European Certificate of Hand Surgery (FESSH). Since 2017 he has served as a FESSH examiner and member of the Hand Trauma Committee, bodies responsible for European standards of education and assessment in hand surgery.
Author and co-author of scientific publications on hand surgery and reconstructive microsurgery, including chapters in international textbooks such as “Hand Surgery Worldwide” and “Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery” (Springer). Chair of the Scientific Committee of the 16th International Poznań Upper Limb Surgery Course (2024). President of the Polish Society for Surgery of the Hand from 2019 to 2021.
He has been part of the Halluxmed team since 2026, expanding the hospital's expertise to advanced hand surgery, reconstructive microsurgery, and comprehensive treatment of upper-limb conditions and injuries at the referral level of an academic center.
