| My story may seem banal. My grandmother already had bunions, so I knew what awaited me over the years. Mine also grew steadily, were painful, and made it impossible to buy even delicate flat shoes; most pressed on the bunion and increased the pain. Surgery seemed out of the question—long immobilization, pain, fear. I encountered the clinic about five years ago when a friend had surgery there. I needed a few more years to decide.

I am now more than three months after surgery. Everything I feared—immobilization, postoperative pain, and regaining fitness—turned out to be fiction. There was no pain; although I stopped painkillers very quickly, I was walking around my apartment a week after surgery. Now, apart from still wearing shoes with a flat heel, nobody would notice I had surgery. The scars are healing nicely and cause slight resistance when bending. You could say I have returned to everyday fitness.
Many thanks to the entire staff for the wonderful care at the clinic. I will recommend the clinic and procedure to anyone facing similar problems.
