Visit after knee surgery

Patient story: Mr. Hubert

In September 2017 I injured my left knee while playing football. During a sudden stop while running, my knee “jumped” sideways. After the injury it hurt and swelled. The next day I went to an emergency department, where an X-ray showed nothing, but the examining doctor suggested possible ligament damage.

Knee surgery at Halluxmed

Because I wanted to return to sport quickly, within a few days I had an MRI, which confirmed a grade-three anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. I immediately asked doctor and physiotherapist friends how serious the injury was. Their opinion was unambiguous: the knee needed surgery. Unfortunately, the NFZ waiting lists were very long, even after I considered a dozen hospitals. I therefore decided on private surgery; after hours of research I came to HALLUXMED clinic. I waited about a month for surgery. Hospital care was exemplary and rehabilitation began immediately; I noticed results after only three days. After about six days I could take a short walk around my apartment without crutches. At home I continued rehabilitation, meeting physiotherapists three times a week during the first two weeks.

Two weeks after surgery I could move around fairly freely without crutches.
